Doing an engine swap on a'53 ford mainline. Putting in a sbc and was wondering if you can use the swap kit for the'53 ford truck in the car? Car had no motor when I got it and I have a tpi motor here. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
The frame/suspension are entirely different from truck to car, so it won't be a "bolt in". It shouldn't be too difficult to use stock Chevy engine mounts and fabricate frame brackets to match up with the engine portion as they should be pretty close to the front crossmember/frame rail intersection. That's what i thought. Just thought an easy cheap adapter would be sweet. Fabbing up a mount will be easy too Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Why would you want to use a truck swap kit? Pretty sure that a car motor mount kit is available. Try advance adatpers or transdapt. Or you could build your own mounts, get some side mounts for a Camaro and go from there.
