I had been looking for years for the right car. Yesterday i found it ! 1950 Olds 2 dr, 44k original miles, original mint interior, all stock, 303 engine with hydramatic. Engine and trans was rebuilt 200 miles ago. Came from a collection of 12 cars that was kept in a climate controlled enviorment. The owner recently passed and the family sold the entire collection to a Classic Car broker in Ohio.I am so stoked to get this car. Plans are to put dual smittys on her for now and enjoy. Maybe down the road a 2x2 manifold with strombergs.
Thanks like i said been wanting one for years, had a red one that i used to race at Lions when i was a kid long ago
Congratulations,,I am happy for you Finding a car that has been so well cared for is almost like finding a brand new 50 Olds,,have fun Brother,,, HRP
It will be about 3 weeks before its in my hands, being shipped from Ohio, enclosed . Have to get busy and order a couple of smittys for her. Can you tell i am excited?
Perfect ...bet you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face when you're driving it . Somebody gave the car a lot of TLC and you benefited . Is it being shipped in an enclosed trailer ? T
Yea i think thats the same one with original paint but worn through to primer in several spots, i looked at it, it was for sale, but drivetrain wasnt rebuilt and tired.
Nice score ... and great choice on the Smitty's ... my stepdad had a 52 Olds running Smitty's and it sounded just right ... that's what I learned to drive in. Congrats!
Very nice low mileage car. Of course you're going to have to change your signature now or put those fenders in a guitar case. )
Just curious; did they make a '50 88 coupe in addition to the 2dr sedan? (I had a buddy that had a '51 coupe; I have a fondness for coupes of this era). In the final analysis, though, I relly, really like the fastback.
Yes they made a coupe, some call it the "bubble top", yea fastbacks are great , but i couldnt pass this one, cars like this come along once in a lifetime
Great score Randy, now I have to look for the Olds driving around town. Someone in my neighborhood has a '49-'51 (only seen it in the garage). I was looking for a '50 98 2dr fastback for awhile.....but.
Cruzr, First,Sorry to hear about your dad. Second, Nice score on the car. Third, I know parking is limited at your pad so feel fee to park the 50 or the A at my house for "safekeeping". Terry
