Do these things work?I chopped my 31 Chevy pu 5" when I'm first to a stoplight I have lean forward to see the light.I've stopped further back but that pisses drivers behind me off.
Do the magnetic ones stick well to the relatively vertical AD truck dash? I have the repop Guide prism. Seller told me it would fit one of the windshield molding holes ... It doesn't and I don't want to drill a hole in the dash.
I'm not running a hood so I can see the reflection of the traffic light in the chrome air cleaner lid as well as the radiator support rods. Those traffic light viewers may work but I think they're in the "curb feeler" and "suicide knob" genre.
I disagree the curb feelers and suicide knobs were more of a it looks cool thing. These prisms functional and practical especially for us tall guys.

I dunno...........I've seen a lot of old ladies using those curb feelers in SoCal in the late '40's through the early '60's. And my nephew (et al) couldn't drive a vehicle without that "Brody" knob.
I have used one of them for several years on my Safari even though I don't have a visor.The seating position makes it difficult to see overhead traffic signals. What you might want to do is experiment with the positioning a bit.When I first installed mine(an accessory piece that attached to the windshield molding screw)I had to move it a couple times to get it to see the lights. I now have two of them(one on the upper molding and one on the lower)and the reason for this is where I live the stop lines are at various distances from the light.Some will show up in the lower one(these are farther back than normal)and others in the upper one. One down side to having one of these is driving west when the sun is going down(or east in the morning)which will glare considerably if the lens picks up the sun.It can temporarily blind you quite easily;especially if you're an old man like me.
I have no problems seeing the lights in this, of course I don't have a visor either and I could't drive this beast without the Necker Knob. and I'm not gay! just happy...
Really who needs a prizm....... just wait for the horns...or in Cali, the cussing or more likely...the shooting.

Wait I thought "the gays" were the ones with the cramped neck ... If you have shiny paint just look at the reflection in your hood, works great juat make sure your looking at the right light.
It is not be traditional, but it is not obtrusive and you will get a lot of people asking "what is that?" if they see it at all. Best of all, it really works and is under $20.00. But it may be too high tech for some. They really do work. I have several friends with chopped 32's running them and they really like the way they work. No holes to drill, just press it on the inside of your windshield. You can move it around on your windshield til you find just the right spot for you and you can move them from car to car.
