Jack Calori's '36 Coupe

My very favorite custom, PERIOD !

 

Calori's car certainly set the bar for '36 3W customs. I thought the rear treatment was the best you could do on a '36, so I copied most of it on mine:



To my dismay, the guy who owns it now undid most of that:

I'm sad to say: yes, it is.

 

I've sold a couple of cars where people thought it warranted telling me what godawful things the new owner had done to my ride.Hate that.Yours and Calori's coupe showed the right touch.

I've worked for Mecum for years and have had the privilege to drive the McMullin roadster and the Calori coupe all summer on display at our auctions and we also have kept both cars at our shop in Wisconsin all summer.
They are both awesome cars and drive perfect and has been a real privilege to be around such a huge part of hot rod history.

 

Can anyone tell me when this is going to be on and what station.

 

How can one make from a beauty such an ugly thing!

Anyone have any idea what the Calori coupe is estimated at?

 

It's on Velocity, I just got an AT&T connection this week so I'll be watching it. Bob

 

It is supposed to go at 2:00 Pacific time.

 

I'm going to have to watch it on the laptop as I don't get Velocity on my dish plan. The hazzards of having the cheap plan.

I'm doing that now. it's 1:59 pacific time and the McMullen roadster is 4 cars down the list to be sold.

The McMullen roadster sold for 700k.

 

I watched that sell, who is the new owner? Bob

 

Proxy bid on the roadster.

Calori coupe sold for the reserve 300K

Now I need to go cut up some wood for the fireplace.

 

The Coupe is coming up to the block it is a couple cars back,

 

On the block now .... Sold for $300K
