Finally...!! The last time I had this licenced was 1968! I put it in a van today and it's on it's way to Industrial Chassis for the next incarnation as a hiboy. In a previous life it was a fendered car oh so many years ago. Life is too short and gettin' shorter so with Steve's help I hope to turn this into an Arizona daily driver.
Listen to Steve's ideas. You made a good choice with him. Please don't fall victim to the weird streetrod mentality that is so prevalent in Az. I see a lot of neat cars with too much new stuff on them. I figure since your on here you want to do it in a traditional sense. That looks like a great old hotrod. I hope you carry that theme throughout the build. Good luck and start a build thread. I 'm sure Steve will post a lot on this one. Can you give us a rundown on how you plan to proceed and what parts you will use in the build?
You can't just post up a picture of a deuce 5W and not tell us what it'll become.. More details. Pretty please?
Damn, is it just me, or are there A LOT of 5-windows getting built right now?!? Love it. I'm with the rest of them - share your plans. Inquiring minds want to know. .
Glad to see it going to Steve. You will not go wrong having him make a real kickass hot rod for you. His work is outstanding. Nice old rod....
I remember this car sitting in the basement of a hardware store in Seattle. I think I first saw it 15 or so years ago and took pictures. The owner always said he was going to do something with it some day and now it looks like he is...Very cool to see. This is going to be a bitchin hot rod. Congratulations!
I'm leaning toward a small block chevy (I know - I hear all the groans) with a 700R4 for all of the obvious reasons. Hoping for an early engine or one to be built like an early engine - clean without all of the 'shiny' stuff. I'm sure Steve will have much valuable input.
Nice 32, kinda of leaning with the guys on the engine and tranny, but understand the thinking on a daily.
Why not, it's about as traditional as it gets! Exactly!!! You absolutely can't go wrong with Steve doing the chassis under this. I kinda already know what He'll do and it will be great. Now, about getting everything louvered... Let me introduce myself!
I may or may not work for the company that rented the truck. I don't think you're supposed to do that Good luck with the rebuild!
I'm not groaning about the Chevy. It's the 700R4.. I've had nothing but bad luck with those. Currently on my third one. Maybe automatics in general just don't like me? Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Got to see the car in person and meet the owner of the car at industrial Chassis open house. He can't wait to get his car back on the road doing 80mph on the freeway all day long on a super stout chassis.
Saw the car the other night at the party! Damn cool little rig. Wish I would have gotten to meet the owner as well...
