40 Ford Coupe hood hinge mounts

I need some pics or info on where and how the hood hinges mount on the cowl. Are they directly on the cowl, or do they mount on a bracket that goes on the cowl? I bought this car in pieces and am not sure if all the parts are there.

They do bolt directly to the cowl

 

The hinges bolt directly to the cowl, one bolt is inside the car and part of the hinge, and 2 are in the engine compartment.

 

The hinge mounts go on the cowl ...

The hinges mount to these.

 

Would they be the same as my 47? I have my hood off and I could post some pictures...

 

Ok thanks guys, they may be the same as the 47, I am not sure. Will try to figure out, got a rough idea

39 Ford has it right....One from the inside and the other 2 on the outside of the cowl

 

I took the hood off my 40 last nite, its just like the picture above I can take and post pics if you need

 

Here's a picture of the driver's side hinge on my '40.

 

Here are some pics. There are 3 mounting points to the hood and all 3 pivot as it goes up and down. The middle pic should be rotated 90 deg clockwise. The arms in the 1st pic go on the 2 bolts on the left edge of the 3rd pic. The upper end of the arm in the middle pic fasten to the bracket on the left edge of the 3rd pic.I hope this helps.

A 47 is not the same. Only 39 deluxe, and all 40 models
