    Hey guys!
We all love barn finds! I bought this 36 chevy pickup & just got it in last night! Wow when I saw the pics I had to have it! 1962 Water pump went out & orig owner parked in in a old shed & went & bought a new truck & was going to repair the old girl at a later date It never happened he passed away & his stuff got auctioned off! Now it was in Madison Wi & now in Sunny CA! It is so cool it wreaks old! Butt if you open this can of worms will they just keep coming? Its cool just like it is! I'm thinking yard art sitting in the trees or try & get it running but you know the wallet will open just to get that done! Battery, Carb, fuel pump, radiator, plugs, wires, brakes, tires Blah Blah Blah! Yard art? Sell it? Drive it? what do you think? Tks Bill

Well, since we're all about hot rods and not yard art.....

Either do something with it or sell it on.

    You asked:)

    YARD ART??!!!! Please, don't...

I haven't seen such perfect patina in a long time! DO NOT waste it!

My opinion (you asked for it)? Do what needs to be done to get it running/driving/starting/stopping/working as safe and reliably as possible, get the seat re-done, clean it up and DRIVE IT!!! Ok, maybe upgrade to an open drive train with a T-5 5 speed, but I wouldn't change much else.

That truck is a time capsule, and can only be original once.

Good luck with it. Sweet truck!

  6. Great looking old Chevy. If you don't like to open your wallet to get it going then sell it to someone who does. Yard art should be an old beat up crankshaft with your mailbox sitting on top of it.

  7. Gotta agree; way too nice for yard art......

I agree with the masses....fix it & drive it, or let it go

  17. Since you really didn't want it that bad, I think you would be happier just selling it to someone who thinks a late 36 Chevy truck is their dream rod.

That is too good to be just yard art. Get it running and enjoy it!

  21. Good choice. And if you find it's not your cup'o tea, sell it to someone who loves it.
Personally, I believe a low-cab 36 chevy pickup is one of the best looking pickups ever built by anybody.

shame on you for thinking of using that Chevy as yard art. Get it running and drive it and when finances permit, restore it.

  27. First Hot Rod (truck) I ever got to ride in was one of these. It belonged to a HS buddies brother and his brother let him drive it to school once in awhile. If I was in the market for a truck it would be the top of my list.

I hope you get it running and drive it, or send it down the road for someone to be caretaker of it.

Looks good man!! I have the same truck. Mine is all original too only difference is mine has wire wheels instead of artillery style. I cruise mine around on weekends and I love it. Thumbs up everywhere you go. If you ever decide to change wheels let me have first shot at those. I like the white wall look on the artillery rims.
Have fun man thats what its all about!!!
