Its always a pleasure to see the great contributions to the Friday Art Show. Here's my humble contribution. I grew up on comic books, Mad magazine, Cartoons and graduated to Hot Rod, Rod and Custom. This is a graphic novel I'm creating that combines both of those influences. It follows the "life" of a 55 Chevy through the decades.

Scratched another one this morning for Good Guys Scottsdale next weekend. I try to keep the actual scratch time under two hours and sell these 8X10 for $140-$160. The two hours doesn't include the creation of a template which I can use again to scratch another one later for another show. My larger pieces which are more concept-based take approx 10 hours of scratching plus the even longer design/prep time. And I usually do those twice and keep the best one.

This is why artists don't make much money.

As always, everyone's art is killer.

Today, I particularly enjoyed this one....
I really like how you turned this into a cartoon. Pretty cool.

Finished inking the drag roadster. Now the owner and I are going to use the art to look at color schemes/combos and graphics.

I dont consider myself an artist but making this was fun, still would like to make a fake bumper from sheet metal (for weight reasons),make it so i can turn on the lights and try some pinstriping on it - something i have never tried. Best part is the misses likes it also and it may come inside the house once the kids are gone[IMG].

a little pissed off at the moment , i know we are all fair game when it comes to putting our artwork up on the net to show others . the amount of time we take to learn what we love to do and then the time we take to come up with something original, different, etc we take pride in it , and then some jackass comes around and does a half ass job copying your hard work and calling it there original .
Just found out it happened to me . and looks like i'm not the only one this person might of ripped off in our hot rod/pinstriping art community keep your eyes out for this fella that has all this great art background experience

    ...
i dont know how to hyper link things to well but copy and paste and have a look see

    YES!! I made it!!!

I spit in the face of the Gods of bad timing and lack of actual HAMB friendly jobs!!

    :)

Great show as always. I don't get to post much, but I lurk like crazy. You guys are beyond inspiring.

Note: I met Ed Tillrock, Ken Eberts, Tony Morre, Ryan Curtis, Art Alvarez and THE Don Viestra at SEMA last week. Blew me away.

Here's one of my latest. Got to help out Greg Tedder and a couple other folks. It's not even a VW. Honored.

Thanks for all you cats are...love FAS

  27. Jen,
As far as I am concerned, you are a much better pin striper than him. Ask hotrodladycruiser... she knows I have an eye for this stuff - I striped a bunch of stuff for her. While I am inspired by your designs, I do not "Copy" anyone's work... besides it is easier to just let my own style show through in my work - too hard to copy directly, no fun either. So cool off, drink a beer (if you do) and relax, Because your stuff ROCKS sweetheart, It always makes me want to be a better striper when I see your work.

  28. Jen- you are an extremely talented photographer. This week's you show are just superb. I want some of those.
    Thanks for those links. I weeded out a coupla spam/ steal dudes who were sniffin around my HAMB albums this week..;

Jigger, thanks- I hope the fun I get doin' kustom koncepts rubs off a lil'. - Love the bucket & wheelie. In '82 I found a '63 barn stored '27 Chev Sport Coupe- saw it recently at a swap, still barn- stale, for $12000.00
