Goat Suckers and YaY-Hoos. Not gonna' miss it! (badassed trophy as always, Blake!) see ya'll Saturday
Hey this is Dennis winner Best of Show of the first Pistons and paint in 2002. I am currently writing you from southern China where i am for business. This trip I also went through India. Sorry no hot rods there just "Ox Carts" I hope the Chups are all well. I still have the picture of Riersons dragster on my garage wall . I live in Columbus, Ohio now where the car Kulture is good. Sold the Coupe to a new caretaker in Ft lauderdale and just finishing a 1928 A sedan. Take care all. If you get to Columbus PM me. BTW i still have my show shirt from 2002. Holding up well with an occasional grease spot:0 The car is pictured with Ito,s coupe which he has also sold and i think was for sale on here again last month. I did paint the car black and will post if i can get it to load. Dennis
Going to be my first one also ( the car has been there before, but I haven't )...I've heard the show is great, looking forward to it..........safe travels to those that are making the trip.
I'm also looking forward to it. I'm flying from San Antonio to Tulsa Friday morning and driving back a 51 Pontiac to the show, then taking it home to SA after Pistons and Paint. If all goes well, I'll see you all Friday afternoon at the Best Western and later on at Dan's Silverleaf!
Alls good in Monster City! Got a good feelin about this year. The Chups will be bustin ass Friday up at the Denton Fairgrounds getting ready for Saturday. Come by and say hey if you get in town early. The trophies blow my mind every year. There needs to be a trophy for the trophies!
I haven't been in a few years and can't go again this year, but this is the best show in Texas. I prefer it over the LSRU and the HRR. To me, this show was just perfect. If anyone hasn't been, I suggest they go.
One lucky show participant is going to go home with the annual Bass Award, given to my pick for best traditional hot rod or custom. But that's not all....there are a whole table full of amazing handmade trophies that get given out every year at Pistons and Paint. Like Ed says, we need a trophy for the best trophy!
The Houston Burnout is happening today. It's in my backyard. Though I have been attending Pistons and Paint for the past four years (can't remember exact years). Anyway, you know where I'll be. I guess it's tradition. Leaving for Denton at noon.
Thanks for coming! I'm still not sure why those guys scheduled the Burnout on the same day, since we've been doing it on the second weekend of November since before we moved it to Denton back in '05. But regardless, I'm glad there's another show here in Texas that showcases traditional hot rods and customs. So if you're reading this and Denton is too far to travel, be sure to checkout the Burnout down in Houston!
Tonight at Dan's Silverleaf is the kick-off party with Matt the Cat Trio, featuring Matt from 1100 Springs. Dan's on Friday night before the show is usually a laid-back affair, but I can pretty much guarantee that there will be hot rods and customs out in the parking lot.
