    Hi Jeff,

I am breaking my 1933 willys coupe for parts and still have the doors,
front end, tail lights, rear fenders, windshield, glove box,
door/window handles and regulators. They are in excellent shape and
    condition.

I'm asking $650 for them and price includes shipping and handling. I
will be shipping via UPS or FedEx whichever you prefer and shall
accept payment via Western union or Money gram. What's your shipping
    address? Phone #?

    thanks,
    Derek.

  2. That's hard to make sense of...so he emails saying he has the parts and wants to be paid via WU or Money Gram. You say you got a money order. He says he doesn't accept money orders.

His parts, his payment, if you want what he has you gotta play by his rules, but yes, any time Western Union is mentioned I get skeptical.

The only way semi safe to buy anything sight unseen is thru a wire transfer. Straight from your bank to his. Not guaranteed but at least you can trace it.

  4. These bungholes usually have all the parts that you need but when you ask for a dated photo of them, it all goes kinda quiet. Ask him if he has a valve cover for a 1945 Henway sidevalve, He'll probably say "How many do you want?'

That's a Vacaville phone number -- call, get his address and have a fellow Hamb'er check out the parts.

What makes it being scam ????
Maybe he doesn t have a bank account.
Or bad credits at the bank.
I don t have too, so if I had to sell something, I d ask the paiment via WU also.

  7. I had one but it had a left hand finigan pin. Sold it twice on another forum:D

You have to be careful. I just sold my 39 LZ trans on this forum. I received a postal money order yesterday (at my PO box) and am shipping today. The buyer asked for enough details and pics to get a good feeling I suppose.

Buyer in Pasadena, CA and me just south of Oregon border. If I were a scam, what can he do but serve me in small claims ct. My knee caps are already bad.

What seems to happen next is that they send a check for more then the amount you wanted and they ask you to please just refund the difference.

Problem is their check never clears in the first place!!!!!!!!

I have seen many different versions of the exact same scam and I must admit some of them are very clever.

  9. Tell him you're sending a money order from the post office (no bank account needed to cash it) and if he still says he can't accept it, he's full of shit.
