I've got 6" rims now,but I'm thinking 4.5" rims would look and run better.
    Your opinions are welcomed,
    Thanks

Normally, I would agree also, for a more traditional rod. But with your updated style of flames I think it looks great. Also, with your killer (horsepower) engine I think you might want to keep more rubber on the ground up front.

I just recently did a rim change and went from 6" to 4.5" rims on the front of my sedan. It improved the drive-ability quite a bit.

I would go with 4.5s and ditch the radials too...but thats just my opinion.

Narrower front runners would kick up the Bad Ass look making it more dedicated track car in appearance. You would probably lose some road handling with the smaller contact patch up front, though.
I think it looks real nice as it is.

Yes, another vote for 4 1/2" WHEELS.

  11. Looking better is probably a matter of opinion and skinnier rims won't make it run any better. maybe if you are shaving quarter mile times skinnier and lighter rims and tires would let it roll out a little better.

I don't know, bias-ply tires and that "real flames" paintjob would just look silly together. It's a modern streetrod, radials just fit the look of the car.

  15. 4" or 4-1/2" wheels usually do look better but the wheels on your car now look just fine.

A new paint job would be in order too. Haha! He wanted opinions. :D

I have a pair of front wheels (not on car) where one is 4.5 and the other is 6 inches, but they have the same size tire mounted on both. You dont really notice the (unmatched) size of the rims right away...

My point is the size of the tire probly matters more than the size of the rim. If I didnt have rims, I would by 4.5, but ditching 6 inch rims to go to 4.5 inch doesnt seem worth the hassle

    Just my comment.

    Nice car by the way.

I like it as-is. More "trad" wheels are going to make your paintjob,(very nice, by the way) look too new.

Nice car! If it were mine, I'd change all 4 wheels to (smaller) black steelies with chrome caps, I'd erase the fire as well as the side pipes, and add a hood. Thats just what I'd do if it were somehow mine. :)

My vote is 4.5's also. You could even let me drive the car with both mounted for a summer and I would give you a better opinion when I was done. You may also need rear tires when I was finished evaluating the decision :)

Really,,,,some folks tell me that it's not enough "braking surface" especially with a big heavy engine but I like what your saying.
