Rebuilt vacuum advance canister

    Is there anybody that rebuids vaccum advance canisters?
    It's for a 55 Olds.
    Dont really want to spend upwards of $150 for a NOS piece that may be dry rotted inside.

    This canister might be the same as any GM canister from that era.

    I got one from Fusick Automotive... they Sell lots of the obsolete parts for these cars. The one I got was a rebuilt unit. There is a local shop to me that has a source for a rebuilder. So I imagine that a good mom and pop store might be able to help you out, especially if they cater to older vehicles. Good luck

    FWIW, the rebuilt vacuum advance units I've seen run $75-150. Look in Hemmings.

    I think the standard chevrolet unit will fit and look and work fine.....
