Hot Rods Horn for my 27T Roadster?

I would like to add a horn to my 27T roadster, not sure I want an ooga type. What other types of horns were added to these types of 50's hotrods back in the day? Any recommendations?

There was always the "wolf whistle" but why stick something so dumb on such a nice rod-- just because something was done " back in the day" does not mean it was smart then either.

 

You could put a regular car horn underneath the car where it is hidden from sight to make it legal, if you change your mind later just change it to the new one. Or put a motorcycle horn under there and wire both up with a switch to go from one to the other!

 

I put a late fifties Cadillac dual tone horn in my '27, nice classic big car sound

 

I had an ooga horn on my 37 Willys in the 70s and if i used it to worn someone they just smiled, just a joke sound !! The horn is on the shelf now. I have an early style 26 rpu thats going to have a 50s car horn,they sound cool. JW

awesome T! id do with a wolf whistle horn

 

I put a forklift horn on my 33. I bought it at Grainger, it looks like an old motorcycle horn or the kind that So-Cal Speed shop sells. It is loud and sounds good(Beep).

It's not the most masculine sounding horn, but it's legal and fits damn near anywhere.

 

Use a pair from the '50s or '60s. Under the floor is fine...Olds, Cad, Buick, mid-'50s Ford. All have a nice, commanding tone.

My brother bought a "Diesel-sounding" horn from J.C. Whitney, for his '29 Roadster Pickup.
(he lives in Santa Clara, Fremont St.)
His "Diesel Sounding" horn sounds more like the gattling horn used on fire trucks. LOL
