sbc flathead valve covers ???

Are they ashamed that they are running a chevy engine. Back in the 50s a local guy put 2 extra carbs on a chevy 6 with muffler clamps.

 

Aren't these the same as shaving down tires to get WWW's?

 

Maybe they aren't trying to pass of the engine as a flattie but just doing something that is different than the normal chrome covers. I wouldn't do it myself but to each his own.

No. I don't think so. After the tire is ground, it IS a whitewall....but that Chevy ain't no flathead. Right?

 

At least grinding white walls is traditional, that's been done since forever. I know an old dude here in town that restores Fairlane retractable s that still have his whitewall grinding machine from the 50's, he charges $2o per tire to cut them as wide as they will go.

Crap. I was gonna get a set of plastic Aurdun valve covers. Now that I've seen these, I can't decide!

 

I hate the covers. I love this site, all the advise, straight talk, and encouragement a person could want. NO charge!
