One of the very nicest front end treatments that I can recall from my days of growing up in eastern Canada was on a '56 Ford Crown Victoria
2-door hardtop, the one with the tinted glass insert in the roof. The car was turquoise and white, continental kit and skirts, and that '56 Meteor grill. The local Custom Auto Body Shop extended the lower front of the hood so that it curved downward to match the V-shape of the grille bar. Absolutely perfect look to the car.

My first car was a '57 Ford that I modified by changing over to '58 front fenders (quad headlights) and that grill bar from a '57 Desoto. Instead of the big heavy Desoto lower pan, I bolted on one from a '59 Plymouth. Same shape as the Desoto unit, but lighter looking and kept the front end from appearing too heavy. The Desoto bar was chromed, while the Plymouth pan was painted body colour.

Sorry, no pictures of either car.

"54 Pontiac is one of my favorites. Everyone seemed to use them in Shoebox Fords and Mercs.
