I would first like to say I'm so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine. I am submitting pics of my roadster that I built with my Dad and son's help. I did the bulk of the work, but it's always nice to get a hand once and awhile. The top & interior was the only thing farmed out! It's a driver!!

Yea, it's been around the block a few times. By dad's own recollection, he's got around 100,000 miles on it, if not more.

Here's what it looked like when he first built it. . .

  17. This car is a 'driving' memorial to my dad who died of cancer in 2006. He was 54.

He bought it as a stocker in 1971, finished it in 1982 in our attached 1.5 car garage. He did everything himself except the upholstery. It won a Top 25 award at the NSRA Nats in OKC in 1983, one of Dad's proudest moments. My sister and I rode thousands of miles every summer behind the front seat until we grew to big. I've driven it all over this country since I've been the caretaker.

awesome tribute to your son. i know all to well of your pain, my son Joshua also committed suicide in 2007 at the age of 22. like your son he was also active in building hotrods and customs. Joshua's work lives on in Dennis Carpenter museum, he had a hand in doing the body and paint on a few cars there. This is Joshua at age 16 with his 57 ford ranch wagon. Let me know how I can help spread the word, I have been wanting to do something to get the word out so others don't have to go through life living with the thought of suicide.
