Features 1937-1942 Zephyr 3 Window Coupes??

The 40-42 are the same the 39's are different.

 

I'm building a roadster these days.

 

Is the Wheelbase of the 37 Lincoln Zephyr 3 window coupe 2dr, the same as the 4dr?

Yup! Alot of work, but its starting to look like a roadster these days.

 

Here's my latest project. Just got it running after years in storage. Doesn't look to bad after a good clean-up.

Maybe this is for another thread but anyone know where the vin numbers are on the 37 frame? I'm missing all tags and the tranny has been replaced. Any help would be appreciated. Pic of vehicle on post #14

I wouldn't know that.

But if you give me a possible general location, I'll be glad to take a look.

 

Here's a local ragtop... apparently restoration took 30+ years!

 

man that one is nice, did that come out of the Fuchs estate sale awhile back? i am GOING to have one eventually!!

 

The frame on my 37 is stamped on the top of the left hand side (drivers) frame rail where the front cross member joins. I believe the rear of the frame may be stamped above the shock mount too, but I have not checked this out.

Thanks for the help Paul. found the number and it all checks out to be a 12 cylinder 1937 coupe. Now I know for sure. Wish it still had the 12... Oh well.

There are two of em in a salvage yard in Gainesville fl. One is an old hot rod that is getting shipped off to Sweden, the other is just a shell of sadness on top of a few other cars. Rough but good for parts. The place is called roadside relics. Very reasonable $

 

I knew of one that was sitting in a easy-up garage in Connecticut 2 years ago. 3 window coupe. It was an old hotrod, painted a light blue (no clear coat) and it has an old school flathead with all the vintage hot rod hop-up parts on it. The car had arizona plates on it and it had obviously been sitting out in the baking sun for many years. The coupe was CHERRY, no rust, etc. The guy had owned it for many years but the car hadn't run in at least 40 years. I dont believe it's around anymore
