As a kid I watched Gumby all the time,, as a adolescent I liked Felix the cat,but in my young adult years Fritz the cat was big time winner in my book. HRP
This may help thing's along in that dept............. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--E_bVxhT4qs/T6K4XaiTVEI/AAAAAAAAFGs/UiAFn5GGlSI/s1600/May4.JPG
My wife made me a Gumby costume when I had my shop...I wore it to a party, never had so many chicks all over me... LOL
Sorry, but I'm with Fred on this one. Pokey?? Cmon Riot, add it up! GREAT stuff, thanks for posting. Yes, I saw it when I was a kid, but its worth seeing again, for sure. Made my morning...
Gumby was a rodder, a racer and even a skateboarder. Just have to watch out for those pesky Blockheads <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/k-ZQiQNnLBY" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
That Fliver 500 had me on the edge of my seat. What an exciting finish! I did kinda like the Blockhead's speedster, though.
I was getting into my shoebox once and this guy starts talking to me, for some reason he brings up that he's got a "Pokey" with him... Um, yeah- but he comes back with a box. He opens it up and there's a real clay Pokey horse figure- He said it was used in the animation in the Gumby show. There were probably way more Gumbys and Pokeys than there were General Lee Chargers, but it was still interesting... and weird- Watch out for blockheads.
The fliver 500 episode must have been made much later then the hotrod episode since it has plastic toys in it.
I know this is 5 years old, but this post deserves seeing the car. Granny doing a burn out!!! Granny hitting the drags!!! All of the 60’s era shows were filmed in a little studio in Glendora, CA. Never knew that....
Is that the same people as Davey & Goliath? Looks the same. The only episode I remember, he forgot to install a cotter pin on a wheel holding it to the front axle his soapbox racer. Davey was All Set to win the big downhill race, and a front wheel fell off. Bummer dude! I always check cotter pins because of that episode though LOL
Don't feel like digging it out at the moment... But you could do a search on eBay for pictures.. The kits are still available... Judging by the pics posted, it looks like the bobtail t bucket version.. I have the Custom T 3n' 1 version with lots of extra parts which include spoked wheels... You could build the " Gumby" version from this kit...
I loved the cartoon "Little Susie"... it's on youtube, I looked it up the other day to show my granddaughter... she loved it too
