Mystery Oil Pan

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kramer41, Oct 22, 2012.

  1. Does anyone know what this oil pan goes to? I am sorting through all the gems that came in the trunk of my 1956 Lincoln Premiere and this is one that I have no clue what it's for.

  2. I found this Buick gasket to try and match to it, but is doesn't line up 100%. All holes on the gasket line up across from each other and that isn't the case on the pan. Still stumped!

    Gasket For:
    1961-1957 GM V8 364CI 6.0L Buick
    1966-1965 GM V8 400CI 6.6L Buick
    1966-1959 GM V8 401CI 6.6L Buick
    1966-1963 GM V8 425CI 7.0L Buick

  3. Dude, there are two Buick Nailhead series engines. 264-322 and 401-425. Oil pans are similar but different.

I showed you a gasket for the early one, you show the late one. The shape of either is exactly what you show in your pictures. Mystery solved.
