40-41 ford pickup picture thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by flatheadz-forever, Sep 27, 2011.

  1. Most appreciated. I've only found pictures of 3 other 1/2 ton stakes and saw a '41 at Lou'vul. I'm sure more exist, but are pretty rare to find.

This one came like that from the factory, and the wood is all original. My aunt and uncle bought the truck from the original owner, and I became the caretaker of it this past February. Other than the wiring, wheels, springs and a vo-tech school paint job from the 70's, it's a stocker.

  3. Here's an updated picture of my daily driver - Shop Truck. 20,000 miles in 11 months, works great.

This little '40 turned out by serial number to be a '41, Okla issued titles to older vehicles sometime in the 50s. By then '40 & '41s were just called 40s, like a generic thing. I probably should have stayed with this one but didn't like the fact it wasn't a true '40. Pulled the hood off to clean the engine up, just having the hood off gave the truck a complete persona change. Never put it back on.

Yea, some cars look dumb with the hood off. 40 Fords and your truck look HOT with them off!

Mines in a bunch of pieces as of now. Recovering from surgery at the moment, but when I get the green light from my Dr. I'm on it like white on rice. See avitar for pic.

i recognize Wrinks; in Lebanon. My dad was friends with the original Mr. Wrinkle from depression days up 'til he (Wrink) died.

37express on here has a '37 that was a factory 1/2 ton flatbed stake truck. unfortunately, a hit/run driver destroyed the flatbed about 5-10 years ago so he replaced it with a regular pu bed.

Some great 40/41 pickups on here. Have done alot of 40 Fords but never a pickup--would really like to find a good one to redo in cloudmist grey--would make a great companion to my coupe.
