He's a limited number of photos from last saturday's California Hot Rod Reunion.
I was good for about six hours, then crumpled under the weight "not-so-great" back surgery and 14 spinal injections....but, here's something...:
I stuck to the race cars, figuring that's what the event was about for most of us.

Our own "Riceman"s perfect recreation of the "Masters & Richter" fueler from the early 1960's.....

I shot some off-topic race cars, so be fore-warned....I figured some of you would like to see what was on the track.

this is what I grew up with...lucky me, especially living around Lions, San Gabriel, Fontana and Irwindale....push starts, no reverser, no computers and regular old asphalt on the ground.
    And we loved it.

HAMBer Sam Davis "carsick" donated this gorgeous custom crafted steering wheel to the auction to raise funds for the NHRA Museum. Sam also is an accomplished dragster driver, having driven the twin-engined "Freight Train" to a win here, in Bakersfield, at the "March Meet"
There was lots of really great items to be bid on saturday with many very generous people donating some really incredible goodies all for the purpose of keeping the NHRA Museum alive and well.

also up for bids was Roger "Riceman"' Lee's handmade scale version of the Masters & Richter dragster seen here in the protective case.
This isn't a "kit". This was all done by hand...

nothing draws a crowd like when they fire up a fueler in the pits...people gather around to have their senses assaulted, in a good way.
When I got home, my wife said..."YOU SMELL LIKE NITRO!"
    ......why, yes, yes I do...:D

Some cars, you'd like to push out in the open to really capture the length and the profile of them. This is one of them.
They can't be viewed with the ability to really absorb how pretty they are when you are this close-up, but....maybe someday

Mike Smith of "California Hot Rods" in Sonora, California got some seat-time in the "Cracklin' Rose" junior fueler. There's not much that Mike can't either build or drive.

    Mazooma1,
If anybody complains about you posting some O/T cars, they should be banned from The HAMB! Great pictures! This looks like a must attend event. Watched some of it live on bangshift, very cool!
