Nice quality work!!I'm going to be starting a very simular build soon.What is the steering box and coulum out of?I'm wondering about the clearence on the steering box and starter on a 354 chrysler hemi.I wanted to use all ford parts and no aftermarket joints.I've hear the F100 boxs are the way to go but haven't bought one yet.I'm also going to be doing deuce rails. You could star in a tv show of you making those floors. That's really sick. "On tonights episode of American HAMBer, fabrication of floors for the hemi coupe." I'd DVD it and watch it over and over.
I know you answered this question, but I need to ask again as the body fits SO well, just overlapping the frame rails a tad and evenly along the length of the body. Is a pinch at the cowl all that was needed? Is this the same kind of treatment the "frame shops" do when they made a 32 frame for model A's? Just wondering... I've got these plans, you see, and I just gotta know fer sure! Gary
It was a bit more than just a pinch at the front. I made a template of the body and tweeked the rails to follow the pattern as best as I could. I am using a F100 steering box Sorry thats all the pics I have
Is there going to be any reinforcement under the floor panel? Also, what gauge sheetmetal did you use? I'm guessing that it couldn't be heavier than 18ga to roll those beads and edges.
Its about time I update this thread. Got some more work done on the floor. Next on the list was the rear panel. I decided to make a new panel as the old one was pretty beat up. First job was to form the swage line on the bead roller. Then form the inner part and put it all together
I wasn't happy with the sides as my home made folder puts too much of a rad on the bend. So out with the lead Sharper bend now Now fitted with the lights and number plate surround
I have now repaired the horrible hole in the fire wall. Made the seat riser. And started on the headers.

This is a beautiful build. I'm currently building a Desoto 330 Hemi myself. Was wondering where that intake manifold you have came from. Ken
Exhaust system now finished. made with 2" stainless tube and Smithys Mufflers. When I built the chassis I was going to just run open headers and not a full exhaust system, but after running the sedan like this I'm getting too old for loud exhausts. The chassis had to be modified to run the pipes. I wanted everthing to be up in the chassis and not hanging below, for when we go off roading ;D Made a new piece with a slotted hole
