Event Coverage Oilers CC Present: "Race of Gentlemen"

Mark texted me and said that Mr Willy needs a bendix spring for a ford flattie. So if anyone has an extra that hasn't left yet that can bring one, they would appreciate it.

 

Make this an annual event and you can count on me showing up to a couple of them.. Take lots of good pictures for us land-locked guys!

 

We made it .mayor came over and said hello. Super nice

 

Nice!! Keep us posted on the beach condition.. I can picture Mel out there with a Gordons fisherman rain slicker on and a sand shovel from his kids beach toys trying to keep everything together!! haha Just kidding, cant wait til tomorrow!!

Was there in the Checker cab this aftenoon, lots of stuff going on! My daughter is taking the cab back for the bonfire tonight and I'll be out tomorrow early AM w girlfiend & a bunch of friends. Lemme know if she takes any fares tonight, she;s supposed to split 'em w the old man!

This is gonna be GREAT!

Good time to night tomorrow is going to be great

 

Well, despite a six week thrash, my car won't be there......

In the final hours, late this evening, with just a few things to finish up, I ran out to pick up the rental trailer....

Went to location where I had reserved. Had confirmed reservation at 4pm. Today!!!
Get there...um....no sir...we have no reservation for you....and in fact our only car trailer in stock is broken......REALLY? How convenient you don't have a record of my reservation, and an obligation to provide me with the equipment you took a deposit for!!!! (On a side note, General Gow picked his trailer up here earlier in the day, I suspect him of both damaging the remaining trailer, and expunging my reservation from the PC)

They are happy to "make a reservation" for me, for a rental location an hour away.....
OK, I'll rush to get there before they close. Make it in time, trailer wiring harness wonky, no running lights with my truck. No rental without running lights, try to jumper something in, fry whole harness in rear of truck.
Sorry, can't rent trailer, walks inside locks door!!!!!!

Some days folks are lucky I don't carry. No rental options till tomorrow. Too late to get to the race.
So I'm relegated to spectator status after all......

You folks better put on a hell of a show.....

 

On a brighter note, I do have a new GoPro, so I'll try and get snaps and video for everyone.

 

I'm. Still at the beach gaurding all the cars.and a couple of drunken fellas tonight's turn out was fantastic.awsome time can't wait to race on this sand. Finally found out who moved my car.
.it was mel..lol. police are still patrolin
