I was told by a guy at a car show that it was worth 11k. I bought the car because my daily driver was out of commission and now I would like to get rid of it. What do you guys think it's worth? http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/3339359066.html
ditto....try again - keep in mind that C/List dumps older posts so it may have expired if it's the original ad from which YOU bought the car. dj
still can't access the link, but I agree, unless it had a worked over 455 in it and was as cherry as day one....$9500 is way too much

Unfortunately, FOR ME, I dont even think we would be in the same city, let alone the same ball park. I do wish you luck.
http://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/3211173523.html rebuilt motor, needs paint, decent interior "2 door", $2500. Your car is a clean car, but its a 4 door, that kills it for getting the big money.
I was going to say 3K . We had a 64 Parisienne come in to the dealer .....not quite as good shape but close , 4 door , gold , 8cyl , auto , cloth ......the boss paid 6K for it and I thought he was crazy . One of those deals where the car is old but not very sought after . The Pontiac has been there a year and no takers .( they were trying to get 8k .) T
only worth what someone is willing to pay - have to know if first offer you get might be the best you will get. search online: nadaguides.com
That one looks really clean, around here you might get $4K for that, but there aren't a lot of super clean old cars to buy in Wisconsin. If it was a 2 door hardtop, it'd probably be worth the asking price. But a green 4 door with 100K on an un-rebuilt motor, I don't see it bringing more than that. That's the kind of mileage where stuff starts getting "loose".
Four grand, if everything works and it drives great. Less if it doesn't. He was dreaming at $9,500. Did you get caught up in that "dream"??? I assume you got it for a LOT less.
Not by any means putting your car down, but you will be lucky to get $4000 for the car. About the only interest you will get is the idiots that throw 26 inch wheels and a tide sign on the big 4-door cars. Cars in better shape here at the shows and swapmeets don't even bring $2500.
Sell it to the guy who told you it was worth $11K. Make him a hell of a deal and let him have it for $8K...... It's a nice clean car that not many people are looking for. If you can get $4000 for it I'd say you did well.
You're not that far off the book price, Old Cars Report says #2 $12,950 and #3 $8,330. That's out of the current issue, too. Whether or not it will actually sell is another matter, but maybe try asking on the AACA forum.
"Book values" are only a guideline , not gospel . At the end of the day , if you really like the car , pay what you feel comfortable with and keep it . If you are just looking at flipping it , you'll have to be a lot more savvy on what you pay . If the car has been relatively untouched , you may be in for a few surprises . T
I was thinking the same thing. I've had two friends offer me 6k. Let me put it this way, no matter what I'm in the black. (I don't want to post the price before I sell it) Thank you all for your help.
