  1. Shelby's Hot Rod Roundup "HAMB" 2012 Pick"

On December 15th 2009 we lost our son Shelby to Suicide...Shelby was a Mechanical Engineering Major at U of L JB Speed School, Engine Builder, & General Customizer. He was very passionate about Drag Racing and Hot Rodding.

For the last year an a half we have been spreading our message of Suicide Awareness thru the Shelby's Hot Rod Roundup and awarding picks at local rod runs,Traditional Style Events,NSRA & Goodguy's Events. With each pick they receive our V8 award made here at our shop a Roundup window sticker an Tshirt designed by Ger Peters AKA Dutch Courage here on the HAMB along with other goodies from our supporters. In hopes of creating partners in the Hot Rod Community to go back into thier communities an spread this message.

After talking to Ryan we have decided to do a HAMB pick for 2012. It's free and we invite everyone to participate.

Here is how we plan to make the pick an what all our HAMBERS need to do:

You can start submitting on October 15th an all entries will run till December 15th at that time we will pick four finalist and out of those four they will be voted on by all of you here on the HAMB.

The votes will be totaled and our HAMB Shelby's Hot Rod Roundup pick will be announced on Jan 1st 2013.

Award winner will receive our V8 award pictured here along with the Tshirt & window decal designed by Dutch Courage, goodies from our supporters, Suicide Awareness info for you to share along with our Shelby's Speed & Kustom Swag complete line of Tshirts.

The three runner ups will receive Tshirts an window decals.

Just post in this thread pics of your car. Please include at least four pics including engine and interior, all cars in all forms of driveability are accepted.
Thru out this time I will post more info on what all we do along with other things we do with the award winner. Thanks so much guys we are Hot Rodders just giving back to the community that we love and Shelby had such a passion for........Good Luck!!!!

Heck, I'll throw in a metal panel painted and striped for the winner as well. That is if you and the participants would be ok with it.

  5. Sounds great pdc...I am really excited about this Roundup an can't wait to see the submissions!

Great idea I'll save you from wasting your time with my car but can't wait to vote. If I come up with something to donate that someone else will want I'd be all for it! Good on you! This is a great cause! Now lets find the best 4 hot rods on the HAMB!

Mark, I'm confused as always. Is it the cars that were chosen at the different shows this past year by you that are to be entered or is it any car?

My organization (US Army) just had an organization wide Suicide Awareness Stand Down. It's a huge problem for us. They taught us to look for the signs, ask, listen, care and escort. It's no longer a taboo in our organization to need/seek help.

    Sorry for your loss,

Here are some pictures of our willy coupe. It was done as a tribute to Pork Zartman and the Filthy Forty. We were lucky enough to become good friends with Pork and we still tour with the S&S Race Team through out the year. Hope you like it.
