The checkers will fly at half-staff all week here. Normie was a giant, with talent, humor, courage and a heart to match. We are all better off because he walked this earth -- and burned asphalt and rubber -- with us. I'm sure I'm feeling what rodders, customizers, racers, car people and movie-lovers everywhere are feeling. My heart is heavy -- and I'll admit to tears -- for a true brother, entertainer and most of all rodder-extraordinaire. Rest in peace, Woo-woo.

Funny how some people can be a friend even if you never met them. I liked Norm, though I never met him I felt like we could have been great friends. He didn't seem to try to fit a mold just to be "cool", and that is exactly what made him cool to me. He seemed to live life his own way, without regard to what others thought, and every time I ever saw a picture or video of him, he seemed to be lovin' every minute of it. I'm deeply saddened by his loss, but I think he made the most of the time he had.

You're one of my hotrod heroes. R.I.P.

  20. RIP Norm Grabowski. When I was about ten years old this man "opened the door" for me to the world of Hot Rods. He showed me, with his "kookie kar" of 77 Sunset Strip TV fame, that a car is more than a tool and implement of transportation .... it is an expression of a lifestyle and art form. I carry that love of cars to this day. Thank-you Norm for opening my eyes.

Sad news, I met Norm late 60's in SFV. If my memory correct he had
F100 Pickup? Anyone remember that? Bob

Very sad to think he's gone
but what a great great life and a great human being.
To combine talent as a hotrod builder, actor and genuine great guy are very rare.
He leaves a great legacy and great memories.
