I was talking to Norm at Detroit a couple of years ago and he asked me to get him a LARGE glass of ice. When returning with the cup he immediatly pulled a brown paper bag from under the table and poured a cold one!

Here's to you Norm-gone but very much not forgotten!

Man, I was just watching the Monster Garage episode this week where they sectioned the 54, and was thinking what a hoot he was. Got lucky enough to meet him in Tulsa, and couldnt believe how easily he could speak to a random guy like me like we were long lost buddies. He reminded me a lot of some cool old coots I call friends. Makes you realize how important it is to put down the wrench occasionally and enjoy those around you.

I actually just found him yesterday on FB and got approved for a freind request last night. Didnt realize my day was going to start like this:(

RIP Mr. Grabowski, you were a highlight to this hobby of ours

Norm's legacy is gigantic,as his personality and humor!
I had the great pleasure to meet and speak with Norm four times-always kind and fun and gracious.HIs autograph graces my glove box door-"Oh,you have a crappy truck too, huh?"
We spoke with Norm first in Indy back in the early 90's.He had a huge following everywhere he went. When asked about his role as a cat burglar on "The Beverly Hillbillies" he lit up and told us stories how tv and how Hollywood operated.Great fun!
It was such a kindness...he autographed a "round to-it" for a gag gift for some friends of mine after I called him."Send it out with a note and I'll get a "round to-it" too!"

Thanks Norm, you made me a better hot rodder!

Met him at a few shows. He was ALWAYS smiling or laughing.
I will always treasure this pic that He signed and how He instructed me to read it...
    RIP Mr Grabowski.

Very sad news. I met Norm at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville KY. It had to be 2001. I had him sign the dash of my hot rod. He was a nut! A great guy and a true hot rodder. I then saw him a few years later at the 50th Detroit Autorama. He remembered me before I got to introduced myself. I was shocked! That was quite a feeling, being remembered by the man himself. It is a real loss for the hot rod community. He will surely be missed

WOO WOO Grabowski-- Funny, kind, down to earth hot rodder with a heart of gold.

I was hanging out with my Dad at the HAMB Drags host hotel in '06 and Norm was just having a blast. Luckily I got this shot of the two of them together. My Dad passed away May 1st, and 5 months later Norm is gone... They're just hanging out together in a better parking lot now.
