NAPA has a inline maxi fuse holder, and also circut breakers in all amps.

Most manufacturers use a fuse link for amperages as high as you are asking about. If you compare the cost for a Maxi fuse and fuse holder to the cost of a short length of fuse wire(fuse link), you will see the biggest reason why they do that.

  8. that may be true but it's a lot easier to replace a fuse.

I wasn't suggest the you use a fuse link, or that a fuse was better. It's worth noting that airplanes don't have fuse links. My point was that you asked about getting a Maxi-fuse holder at a junk yard. While some cars do have them, it's not too common. Japanese cars seem to have them more often than U.S. cars. Most of the time the fuse holder will be part of a fuse block assy., not free-standing. If I remember correctly some Mazdas have a free-standing Maxi-fuse holder under the hood. If your time is worth anything you will probably be further ahead money wise to just buy what you need new. And, that way you get exactly waht you want. You can get them in various styles, some are even water proof.
