my t roadster build

    im starting my new build this week. it is a t roadster project i will be runing a ford y block . a banjo rear 40's juice breaks all around . i plan too keep it traditional as posible with a few of my own touches. this is where i will post pictures of the whole build as i go along. hope you guys enjoy watching this thing come together.

    heres the body panels i have too work with i will be cuting the doors down and yes i will save the tops and sell them too one of you on here i will be building my own deck lid and panels i also have a chopd roadster windshield and frame all the wood will be replaced with steel [​IMG]

    front wheels are 14" 5x5.5 bp postal jeep wheels with 4.5 wide tires rears are 15" and 7.5 wide going for that big little combo i plan too break them down and paint the wheels after the mock up is done

    brought all my parts intoo the shop today. the 34 comercial grill is chopd a few inches but i may take another inch out of it. also thinking about cuting the botom and mateing another top in its place would give it a real clean look. im supper stolked too get this thing rolling my goal is too have motor mounted . body mounted. steering/rolling by december 22.

    heres the motor i will run its a 292 y block. it is out of a 1960 ford galaxie. 40,000 orig miles on motor. it ran like a top. also have mercury script valve covers and all new gaskets. i plan too put a cam and some nice street accesories in it too hop it up a bit . i will be keeping it a 4 barel for now . plan on a tripower someday

    i chopped the doors down today and made some patches. then the welder ran out of gas go figure haha . i will weld them up this week end here are some progress pictures

    When you plan on having this done? I will be waiting and watching good luck keeping up with us with that Y-Block :)

    you cut up some pretty expensive doors there
    i think they are 26/27 coupe doors or 28/29 pickup
    like a $700 bill
    want to sell the tops or inner stuff of the parts that are left

    trading those expensive hard to find doors for ordinary roadster doors would have saved you a lot of work and helped someone out

    Agree with tub, should have sold those doors for big $ and either made yourself a set or find something else... my $.02

    Those were fordor doors (hinge above the belt line)!!! Ya'll chill and let the dude build a car!! :eek:

    there sedan doors and a 23-25 roadster doors are supper small. im over 6 feet tall so i wanted too do a roadster with long doors

    You might want to reconsider those gussets. It looks like you cut all the strength out of them with the diamond cut-out in the middle.

    there more too clean my frame up and look nice than a structure thing my spring perches and everything are heavy duty and totaly safe ill post some more pictures tomarow

    No offense intended. But I don't understand how doodads clean up a frame or anything else.

    well mabe when you see what im using them for you will understand and i dont plan on using that whole stack in my car. i cut extras just too have. i like too build things with nice lines that flow just falow the build. trust me i wont do something stupid or ugly
