We have one in my grandson's 38 Chevy truck. It's a very nice piece and well worth the money. No problem's in 3 years
Bumping this guys thread i found while searching.... anyone else use one? I want a well made shifter for my th350 that i can use my "saxman" knob on and not have to mess with a button... opinions?
Looks like the shifting handle is removable. True? If so you might could make a longer swan type handle?
BTW the handle does come off. I made a new handle but much taller for my grandsons 350 and used the B&M handle on my shop press !!!!
I have one and so far I am very happy with it. I would recommend it. As stated above: The top ball unscrews. The shaft (handle) portion unbolts at the bottom where you see the 2 black holes that are perpendicular to one another. You can adjust the angle of the handle (Forward, centered, back) I am having a different handle machined. The stock one is fine but I want one with speed holes so a friend of mine is hooking me up with one. But yes, I would buy one again! WAAYYYY better than that Lokar shit!!!
Had one in a 59 Apache 454/TH400 - worked perfectly and looked great. Being able to use another knob is a major plus....we all like different stuff.
great shifter, i run one in the 38 chev coupe, the knob comes off and can be changed very easy. hard to see in the pic but just a white ball makes it look very classy.
I used an 'economy' B&M shifter on my bud's F100 (Ford C6 trans) and it was a spring side-loaded type with detents for every range. Cable linked, easy adjustment, and very positive. No rattles. Would have been complicated to fabricate...cost was $130? (or so...) He got it from a large speed shop in Lodi, CA. But I've never seen it advertised.
