NO, Because I replaced it with a low milage 302 and C4 for $200.

    Not lame, smart!

I did, though, keep the 302 Y block in my 56 F750. The problem with that is that not only I cant find any parts for it, I can't even find listings for the motor at any parts store.

All internal parts are still available too.

  7. Y block can be just as dependable.

Cool. Was just wonder why someone hasn't done this the other day.

They say it made 500hp/501 ft-lbs at 0.75 bar which is about 11 psi . Not bad, but I would have expected a little more.

    Revhead,
I tried that site that you posted. They do not have the same pushrods that I have in my F750 302 Y block (Lincoln block)

I'm still looking for 2 that are overall length of 9 and 13/16"

  14. Tim and I were talking about this one a couple weeks back when it was posted. And as noted, the guy is one the HAMB.

If its flywheel than it does sound really low. At the tires, 500 sounds really good for a 60 year old design and ported stock heads.

I made 500 rwhp with a t5 and a stock shortblock 302 with ported stock heads. $80 holset turbo off a backhoe and 13psi.

It is flywheel power... But I think (I hope..) they get better Hp's in next year.

  19. Those crazy Fins! Turbo Y-Block? What will they think of next. I was thinking of buying a couple of sbc, should be cheep now that I "spanked" them with the Y in my truck and in my Dragster.

These guys are making that HP with a std. 292 and small valve iron heads. Think of a stock 289 or 283 with no big mods other than boost. then compair #s. Belly button people make me laugh. No imagination or Hot Rod spirit, good thing the "traditional" guys didn't just take the best stock engine and say "good enough".

  20. BTW these guys are running 8.7 sec @ 150 with stock iron stuff. Top it before you knock it.

Looks like the guy built it in a tiny, single car garage! I think the scoop mounted to the front "cowling" is genius; I'm, surprised that has'nt been done before; at least I have'nt seen it. The second video is obviously an airstrip, and in one of the views is a cargo container for equipment; "drag strip in a box". Although I can't really appreciate him using a Y-block, I give the guy a thumbs up for ingenuity. What's being used for a transmission? Butch/56sedandelivery.

Under the front scoop is intercooler. And like Kustom Dick said transmission is Powerglide.
