Look like 1/8th to me. I have the big T and the reissue big Deuce. Great models. Here's my pseudo Big Drag. Made from parts and painted to look like the original.
I love those 1/8 scale Monogram rods. Here are mine: I made the progressive linkage from scratch. And here's the Big Deuce:
Anyone attending the Tidewater Automotive Modeler's society show might know me . This diorama WON'T be in competition this year . I'll bring it for display . Yes, it was a real building in Core de Adeline Idaho: scrubba
Great 1/8th builds, guys! Scrubba, I love the fish! You oughta bring it to NNL East. With our household camera at Nikon USA for repair I've got no pix of current projects, but I did take a lunch hour to have some fun in Photoshop with an older photo of my AMT Trophy-series '57 BelAir. AMT's old kit, which was released in about 1962, is one of my all-time favorites AMT didn't get the side trim quite right, particularly the curve of the long molding and the size of the little "gill slits" on the front fender... In Photoshop, I was able to recurve the molding and drop it down a bit at the rear and reduce the size of the gold slits... More Photoshop to add some Hollingsworth Nomad-style flames and panel outline in silver-blue and candy red... If only it were so easy in paint and plastic!
That's very cool!!!... Can't wait to get started on mine... How about some more pictures of it???... Thanks!!...
I found a Big T put together way back and right now I'm fixing the broke stuff and just trying to get back on it's own wheels. How cool.
OK,here's some more pics of my big models. The Big Drag was made from chassis parts of an original Big T with body parts from the new release painted close the correct shade of blue. The blower and tires I found on Ebay. The firewall is from the new kit and NOT correct. Don't know why they changed it.The Big T pictured here has the original red parts with the chassis and chrome from the new kit. also shown is my non-HAMB friendly original 65 Vette. Love the AMT 57 ( one of my favorite kits. The 'fish house' is cool too! I'd like to see it in person.
I'm building the big duece at the moment these are very cool well done guys I'll post pics when I'm done one Sunday just don't know which one lol
Great stuff folks. These big scale models are really interesting, never built one but maybe one day. Thanks for sharing the work and photographs.
I've got the big T and big Deuce in original boxes, never opened the plastic bags, had the T for about 25yr, the Deuce for about 20yr. Would like to put the deuce together to match my full scale version, but almost hate to open the packaging!
I was looking up pictures of the Monogram "Big Drag" model kit and I wound up on here again... Thanks for the pictures... I'll be starting on my kit tomorrow after work.. I hope...
