Have moved up to the front end of my Whippet/ Ford Hybred, while I get some machine work done on the engine. Pulled the front wheels and am seeing the outside of the drums/hubs for the first time. Very strange looking ! Is this what you would expect to see on a '29 or so Ford front end ?
i had a 33 pickup that had those style drums on it. still have them in the garage. not sure if they were a specific year thing or more so of a certain application.
'35 drums. Looks like the spindles are '32-'34 and the axle is model "A" along with the spring perches and spring. All pretty typical stuff...
Spring perches and spindles are 32-34. Drums are either 32-34 or 35. Only visual difference I know of is 35 is machined for a seal on the inside hub bore. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Look like Rocky Mountain brakes to me - made to run cooler on steep downhill roads - had them on my '33 coupe....
12" dia =32-35 11" dia=31 they are cast not stamped so they give you a better break than early model a mechanicals do not cut up those spring perches if you need to modify them i have 20 model a's that i will give you and buy the 32-34 perches tk
Chances are good it's all 32-4 stuff. I'd guess 33-34.measure the wishbone from perch center to pivot ball center. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
