did some quick primer to the driver side.
    still need to filler work.
put 4" blocks on the rear.
still need to cut the coils up front.

i love the new rear window. and with the chrome trim it'll be amazing.
with the rear bumper and interior installed the car will sit even lower.

and the blue tape shows the paint idea i'm playing with.
    disregard the colors.
Don't know what colors she'll be yet.
There's one called graphite shadow that i like.

got the car out in the sunshine today.
i cut one and a half coils in the front. And has 4" blocks in the rear.
    car drives great.
i think she needs to be lowered another 2" in the rear and maybe 1" in front.
Question - if i lower the rear a bit more will i potentially have a pinion problem?

Geez it looks perfect as it sits! If any lower you'd be dodging speed bumps like the tuners do.
    I didn't note if you'd bagged it.

  13. I think she sit just right, the way she sits! If you slam her more, then you'll have problem with drive ways, gas stations and most defiantly like Eli said speed bumps!

I´m just a FNG but my humble opinion is that it sits perfekt right now!

    Sigge!

  15. For a static drop it looks good. Don't go too krazy and have driveability issues cuz its too low. Any questions you have, give me another jingle

wow. Can't believe i'm about to type this.
But it looks like i might need to sell the Cadillac.
Here's some quick notes if anyone is interested:

    Negatives
-needs a new windshield. the old one is completely shattered.
-the carb needs to be rebuilt. it sat for a while last year, but the car runs and shifts strong.
-i removed one of the passenger window motors. Needs to be put back in, But all windows work.
-it has cheap primer on it right now. It should be stripped/blasted and reprimed.
-i don't have the side vent window/frames. I sold them.

Otherwise car is complete. Bumpers need rechrome but are solid. The stainless is near perfect. Tires only have about 1000 miles on them.
I've had the car for 3 years. Always garaged.

    $8,000 firm.

Will be a shame to see it go, it looks great! Wish we'd had the budget to chop ours!

  20. Its a shame to see ya have to pedal this beautiful car Ted, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

The fabrication that went into the car is top notch, whoever gets this has a good piece to start from!!

BTW, that is some amazing leather work you do!!

With all the work that's been done, 8 grand is a give-away price...a top chop is near that alone...and with all the cool stainless work, and the rust repair...add a couple grand more...someone is going to get a hell of a buy...sorry to hear you have to sell.

A friend of mine out here is looking for a '55/'56, I'll turn him on to yours...

  24. What an awful shame that you need to sell.
I was also thinking that its a steal at that price.
Hope we get to see it finished somewhen.

  25. I wish I could swing the money. The car looks killer with the chop and fabrication. My favorite year Caddy too.
    Good luck on the sale.

  26. No prob, Ted. Thats what this site is for, gearheads helping gearheads. Just hope you can keep the ole girl and get the capital some other way. Good luck

    UPDATE:
a buyer for the car showed up and i freaked out.
What the fuck was i thinking?
NO WAY AM I SELLING THIS CAR. EVER.
The money would make life much easier over the next few months.
    But fuck that.
I'll juggle on the street corner for money before selling my dream car.

My 55 has become like a best friend over the last 2 years.
Wrenching on it is my only alone time on this planet.
    Friggin people everywhere.
