Event Coverage Valla Park Hot Rod Run Australia

We have just attended the 36th Annual Valla Park Run hosted by the Dragens Hot Rod Club of New South Wales.on a personal note we have only missed one of the 36,but it has been a long time since I had a car at the event.This year was the debut for the channelled 32 roadster.

Even after 36 years the run is still the best fun.The host club works tirelessly to provide great entertainment and activities to keep everyone interested.It is a tribute to them thast this is probably one of the best runs in Australia.Participants arrive earlier each year and by the first Sunday the park is filling up.A lot of families make this their annual holiday and most people stay for the full week if not longer.

This year the theme was the Year of the Dragon and this gives a great opportunity for people to get into the spirit of the theme,especially the rage night on Friday,as well as decorating camp sites,cabins and tents.

The photos are just shown in the order taken,with some shots in the early morning while the park was quiet,some at the various corralls they have to showcase car styles and other general shots.

Had a ball! we did a 2500 mile round road trip in 7 days to valla in the two coupes, apart from the 327's distributor cap in mine we basically had a trouble free trip! the old '38 flatty in the 34 went like a charm! 70 miles an hour the whole way up and back!

the final day is Saturday and all of the cars head into Nambucca Heads township and the main street is closed off for a display of the cars.
Then it is back to the Park for the final corrals and then pesentations on Saturday night.

 

And finally the cream on the cake for me was having the roadster chosen by the other rodders for a Top 10 place!!!
