Thanks again for the compliments. Next week I'm hoping to finish "restoring" the plug wire assembly and will post pictures when complete. So far it's looking pretty good.

I love that thing, when I was a kid, my Pop had a grey one like that, but it was a six and a three on the tree.

Took the Pontiac out for a spin this evening.

I recently had the radiator sonic cleaned. The shop was amazed at how much crud came out... Also amazed there were no leaks. Car runs a cool 180 degrees now.

Next on the list is to install a 20" Porter. After that she gets a good cleaning for Back to the Fifties!

Nice looking car you have there. Is the driver door too bad for a paintless dent guy to fix it up? Just a consideration, I might not even worry about it as the rest of the car looks so good.

Thanks, 55. The dent in the door doesn't even bother me. Over the years the original owner grazed the garage a few times. If you look closely you can see more scrapes in the driver's side rear fender. I guess I'm just so tickled to finally have a car to work on and drive that I'm content with the damage.

Beautiful pictures, you did a great job setting up those shots, and the canoe looks great! WAY better than our white 'glass canoe looks on the roof of our '51 Tin Woody...

Nice score, great job, have a ball with it.

    Brian, thanks a ton!
I have owned the car two years now and have been enjoying the heck out of it. I've learned quite a bit about cars, myself, and my support network as I continually make progress on it. What a great hobby we have!

The canoe was home built by a friend, his father and grandfather. I'll admit I was a bit nervous about putting it on the roof of the Poncho!

Stay tuned for more updates... There's plenty more work to do on her!

Mo, I have seen your thread before and I'm inspired to tackle something similar in the future. But for now I need to get her running right before getting too crazy. Do you have any videos so we can here it?

Went to my pops today to install the Porter but it just didn't happen. Once we got the car up in the air we realized the offsets of the existing exhaust system were too much to be able to install the 20" Porter. It's going to require having a few tubes bent, something that I didn't have time for today.

If your heading to Back to the Fifties this year, stop on by and say hi. Once I get parked I'll post my location.

Love it, Chris! Glad you popped that slide up today at EDM. Otherwise, we would never have known that we were both HAMB'ers!

Thanks, Rock! Sure was nice spending time with you and some of the other Cross guys. We'll have to get you up to Back to the Fifties one of these years.

Quick update on the car... Transmission has almost made the car un-drivable. First and third gear slip way too much. I have a rebuilt 52-54 dual range unit with the hydraulic reverse on its way over to me. The rebuild was done by AJ Souza... He began building hydros back in '43 and he had built beefed up hydros for Mazmanian and the like back in the day. Can't wait to get the car back on the road again!

Hola everyone. It's been a while so I figured I would provide a quick update on the car.

I spent last week working on the car with my father. The major items to do were swap the transmission for a rebuilt unit, mill the head, clean up the valves and seats, and install a new exhaust with a Porter muffler. We were able to get everything apart with no issues and are now slowly putting it all back together. I sure am looking forward to a smooth running car that sounds as good as it looks!
