It's actually a picnic hosted annually by the Outriders Car Club . They've been doing this for several years . The club gives tickets to their members that they sell in order to offset the cost of the venue ( a private park overlooking a lake) and the very good tri-tip lunch for the approx. 800 attendees. There are also some additional tickets made available to those donating raffle prizes . The best part of this event is that the real focus in on the people and friendships , the cars are just the common denominator. I look forward to this event every year .

  9. I popped my cherry and went for the first time this year and I had a great time.Very cool day and some nice cars amoung plenty of streetrods but im not complaining because the tradeoff was worth it.Very nice to go to a show or get together and the focus is on the cars not the "kulture".

It's a good thing they let you in Bob otherwise we wouldn't get to see the great cars there!
Even though I'm a deuce guy, this roadster blows me away!

With all those awesome cars there, the 59 Elky seems to turn my crank to the redline. I too noticed the popularity of the 28-9 pickups, not just this but at K'zoo as well. I can't say I disagree. They just work.

  12. I'll try to post the rest of my pic's tonight...got sidetracked.

The roadster was built by Scandinavin Street Rods when he was still in New Zeland for his brother in law. I believe I have my facts straight as I heard the story while on a LA Roadster Show shop visit in June.
I believe he said it was for sale as his brother in law had passed away.

  14. Yea, it was for sale....89K....Good to see you and your lovely wife there Bob.....

I think I ran into Bob in the food line last year too! ;)
No camera this year- I figured someone else would be there to shoot cars.

This show (Picnic actually)- IMO, is the best show around.....period. Nothing compares to the picnic. You gotta know someone to get your ass in though. I've been going to this show for years.
Great people, cool cars, great BBQ & not open to the public.
Not that easy to even find unless you've been before!!!!!

Yea- because we choose to drive them. :p
Didn't see many running tractor tires & pie crust slicks to the show.
These are drivers- and most of these guys drive fast. That means radials for most. I have a set of new hexagon Cokers bias that are undriveable. 3rd set. I gave up.
If you run with a group that drives 80+ for hundreds of miles..........

Besides- I didn't come for the tire show. ;)

  27. tis is the real deal my frend. This is my brother-in-law's 3 window and my uncle's 5 window. This 3 window was found in Serria Madre in a gerage stored for over 50 years. It was sitting next to a sister car 32 roadster (not for sale) just like this. the chop and paint except for the primer on the doors and the chassie. Its history was said by the old man it wad bught from was choped in the early 50's and he painted it yellow after it was done. After Eric Madrid (brother-in-law)bought this car he put it on this running chassie. Its one of the most RUST FREE cars of this area I have seen in a long time...
If anyone from S.G.V. knows anymore about this car let us know please
