I was wondering the same thing, looking at an IHC myself and haven't dug far into parts yet. Can it be worse than my Hudson's? I wouldn't have thought so :)

It's actually a KS truck who's last owner moved it to CO then to his cabin here in MI. It had been disassembled and sealed up when he left it at his cabin. It was only used in the summers. Plans for now are put it back together(he gave me a bunch of extra parts) and drive it with its beautiful rust color. Future plans include a repower with something large and loud. I love the one you did MLG when I get tired of it the way it is maybe ill go that direction with it.

A buddy did his 39 with a 4BT Cummins and a ZF 5 speed. It scoots along really well and gets an easy 25 mpg.
Lots of K and KB big trucks around here, not many pickups. I have a really good drivers door and steering box for one if anyone needs them.

Does anyone know how to remove the steering wheel without destroying it?

  8. drill and tap out the steering wheel so you can put a steering wheel puller on it.

Steering is the one thing I may need if you wanna PM me specifics on it.

The diesel thing would be a great option too
