1961 Falcon Wagon... Original "survivor". I've been after this car for a while now. It belonged to a good friend of mine down in Rio Rancho, NM. He's even offered to sell it to me in payments, but I didn't want to go that route. Anyhow, I recently traded a '67 C10 longbed project truck for an '86 full size Jimmy, lifted. He liked that Jimmy for his kid so we got to talking trading... I took it down to him and he liked it... we traded and we are both happy! I'm pretty psyched with this car...even though I'm not really a "Ford guy". It's the most original old car I've ever owned. It's got a 170, 3-on-the-tree The odometer reads 90,000 miles (has to be original) Original AM tube radio works perfect Here's some pics...
Thanks guys! I hope to get that a/c working. I don't know if it's any good or not, but the system is complete. None of the lines have been hacked... I'm thinking dealer add-on?
They're really nice cars! My aunt had the same exact car.. new from the factory. Have fun with it. Bob
Bitchin' longroof !!! I had a '63 Ford Falcon Futura 2dr wagon & EVERY day someone wanted to trade or buy it.
Clean and sharp - Congrats! Always wanted an early Falcon wagon - had a '64 Comet wagon once which was a sweet little driver. Happy motoring!
Nice ride! What are your plans? Leave it? Restore it? Custom it? Straight axle it? V8 it? Inquiring buzy-bodys wanna know!
Dope ride... There's one of these that has been sitting on A1A for a couple of years out here in St. Augustine for sale, still can't believe it hasn't been snatched up.
COOL!!! I scored, in Jan, a '61 deluxe 4dr. Looks like yours has a couple dealer add-ons: the rear view mirror and the A/C. The rear view looks like a '64-'65 option. The radio may have been added later - '61 shows no pushbutton option, though my car, too, had a solid state pushbutton radio, but with incorrect antenna. Check the serial number for engine code. As I understand it, the 170 is blue, and the 144 is red. Mine's a 170, in a 50,000 mile two-owner, and it's blue. There was also a sticker on the air cleaner, if you got the big engine. Serial can be decoded here. The vacuum wiper motor can easily be changed to the electric motor, even uses the same control cable. PM me if you'd like any help (if I can) or other info. I have the factory manual and Motor manual. Both are quite useful. Cosmo
WOW .... what a sweet-heart of a Wagon. Send out my way and I'll wash and wax it for ya, it may take me a year to get it done though....
Yea man, but they wanted some big bucks for that thing too! I remember seeing it, then seeing the price and thinking that it was going to sit for a while. That was like 3 years ago. Not surprised its still there. Hahahah Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Thanks for all the info and compliments. We are pretty excited to have this car. I had a few plans for her but now i'm not sure... its so original that i may just keep driving her around as is. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
