Most of us on here are not restorers but can appreciate the work that goes into bringing one back, like you have. You did the right thing keeping this one stock, it deserves it. Truck is beautiful.

Great picture of Grandpa's birthday ride, bet he loved it. :D

Thanks for the kind words. I will check out that truck group. I am not really a restorer myself but with the family history behind the truck I could not modify it. I am getting close to finishing this one so, the search begins for another one:)

I got to take the truck to its first show this weekend. It was one mile from my house so a little road test was in order :D . The truck drives striaght down the road. Everything works great. Only have one little issue to fix. The front oil seal on the timing cover leaks a little (cork) couldnt imagine why lol. A guy at the show had vintage plates from 20's on up found a 1941 plate that I can use to register the truck with for only 30$! Grand paw got to sit with truck and talk to people at the show and then got to ride back to the house in the truck. I was an awesome day for sure!

Cool!! Takes me back to restoring my '46 15 years ago. Had to upgrade a few things but have driven the piss out of it since. Those old flathead six's run well. Love the old dodge trucks. Great to share with your Grandpa.

    Few updates to the truck.
The glass is all in thanks to a fellow Hamber (Chris Blattie), bed wood and strips are done, and the grille is painted and installed.

A 42 I did for a customer whose grandfather was the original owner. Keep at it.

What a clean old workhorse. Enjoy the pics and glad your grandpa is able to enjoy it after all your hard work. Priceless stuff there in those pics!

Beautiful truck, very nicely done. The only thing my grandpa left me was an old mule. Which he had been arrested for plowing while intoxicated. True story, for another forum perhaps?

I rebuilt a 46 ton and a half and drove it for 10 years, but it was nothing like yours. Great job.

You did a fabulous restoration. Your truck looks almost like a twin to my 41, except for the power train.

Front stainless, hood, and inner fenders are back on and should have front fenders back from paint soon.

The truck is done except for a few minor details. The truck took grandpa for one last ride this weekend.
