You need to consider how much more you are going to put into it, add that to the price of the car and ask yourself what else can you get for that money.

Things like body & paint, wheels & tires, interior and drivetrain can add up to 10 grand or more.

What else can you get besides a '46 Desoto for 15 grand?

i think i got the fever.i want them all.37 zephyr coupe 42 ford coupe 39 dodge coupe i'm getting a coupe addiction and all i got is a sedan. the desoto is close buy so i'll go and give it a look i just don't want to spend 5500 on anything. thank you
