1951 Chevy Pickup

Goin to look at a 1951 chevy pickup. all original stock. inline 6 and stick shift. priced pretty decent runs and moves but needs brake work and also a fuel line fixed. Pretty solid body. picking it up for $1500 maybe a little less. looking for input on these trucks.

 

good trucks wether a beater, restored or hot rodded.

 

Check the cab corners especially right in front of the doors where the frontfenders bolt up. Look for frame rot where the rear spring hangers attach to the frame just under the front of the bed.

I hear ya there. The frame on this thing is great looking. Body has some work needed. But all in all not bad at all. Couldnt pass it up.

And the rest of the pics. Anyone interested let me know. looking for around $3500 obo the way it sits with the brakes fixed. obviously if I do more work like start doin the sheet metal work and stuff like that I will want more. Just kinda gauging the interest in these trucks.

 

That's going to take a lot of work on the floor boards and bottom front corner (s) of the cab from what I see in the photos.

 

All fixable though. Being a welder/ fabricator makes it easy lol

 

Plus LMC makes everything for it.

 

Anyone interested in it the way it sits? Got it running n moving. Shifts great. Lookin for 2000 obo. Has new floor pans n kick panels to go with it. Don't have time to really dig into it and make it a cool rod.

X2. I had all the usual cab patch panels in hand and was quoted $3000 labor to weld them in and prime the cab. Bought a mig the next day and started practicing.

 

Shinysideup, Hey just cuz u can't seem to do it and make it easy. Look welding and fabrication is simple. Especially when they make the panels. It's drill out spot welds n fit n reweld. How hard is it. Done it a million times. Try when they don't make replacement panels. Like my 48 Plymouth.
