we brought this in last week for a mustang 2 front new rear end . After we removed the engine and trans we decided to clean up things alittle and rewire the truck. This is a cool little truck it runs great and drove good but the lady that owns it wanted it to steer better, disc brakes and a better ride. Dont get all upset we are putting back the stock six just cleaning it up and doing alittle paint it has been rebuilt and does run great. The firewall had 48 holes that were not needed so Cassie welded them up and ground them off looks great to me. I am letting Cassie do most of this work she has already installed a front end on a 48 chevy truck so she can handle this. hope the pictures work out and you enjoy this just alittle of what we do at the shop to keep us out of trouble. Thanks RED Queen City Fabrication

I'm more of a fan of hard driving, straight axel trucks myself, but does look like a nice one and that you are doing some nice work on it.

todays work welded up around 25 or so holes in the frame rails and started boxing the frame in cleaned and painted the area inside the frame before welding. We have to box this one in sections because of the tubes put in place to keep the frame from springing out of shape when you cut out the original crossmember. I finished up cleaning the engine and trans and painting them and started putting all the stuff back on. Rough day fridays are always tired but we made some progress. Here are a few more photos thanks RED

Be sure to post some good pics. of IFS install PLEASE! I'm working on a 46 Dodge pickup and need all the help I can come by. Have a 241 Dodge Red Ram Hemi on the engine stand ready to go as soon as I get the IFS. What brand of IFS&price?
    Keep up the awesome work.
    Thanks, Milton

My granddad bought a '46 new and kept it until he died in 1971. Always love to see the old Dodges like this.

we are using a fatman front for the 30 1/2 inch frame rails. It is working great we are also running the original 6 so we are making motor mounts for the front and also making a crossmember to mount the radiator support. I willl post more pictures tomorrow night I left the camera at the shop tonight. Thanks RED

  11. Nice work so far.

Can you send Cassie up to greensboro for a couple days? I need to get my disc brake swap and get a new rear end installed in my 52 Dodge truck.

I too would be interested in detailed pics of the ifs install...im thinking of that for a future upgrade.

Dan Babb I cant send Cassie to you she goes where she wants besides she is the best help I have ever had that is why she owns half of this business. Here are a few more photos of the truck Cassie is bending the boxing plates to match the frame and I have the master cyclinder mount made and the engine cleaned and ready to reinstall so cassie can make motor mounts for it. alittle up date on the truck Cassie is working on she is making the front crossmember that will hold the radiator support. We put the fenders and hood back on and supported everything so nothing is out of alignment and she started making her paterns for the crossmember. WE could have made it out of tubing but we just decided to take it one step further and do it differently. We are thinking of making these and maybe selling them to others that are building this style truck. Hope you enjoy the photos next we will tear everything apart and paint the frame and then put it back together. thanks RED

I have a question tho is the cab and box the same for the 41 46 47and 48?
is the grill and front fenders the only difference on the 49s?

As per my dodge truck book....cab style changed in 1948 to the more modern blended fender- flat 1 piece nose style....'47 was the last year for the 4 piece hood style in the thread.

    The work is very impressive!
Now get Cassie to wear safety glasses. Those pretty eyes need some protection. Having the eye doctor dig a piece of slag out of an eye is no fun.

Redhumphries, I noticed you were using a dual master cylinder. Looks good, could you tell me what kind it is. I would like to upgrade mine to a dual cylinder.

Got a soft spot for Dodges of that era. My Grandpa's 3/4 ton flatbed still sits on their farm. Lonesome as can be.
