answer to 64 Cummins - its a regrind of the stock cam -lift intake and exhaust 399 - duration 260 I and E - I open 20 close 60 - E open 60 close 20 hope that helps
Here's a Ford 300 I redid for a customer in an OT Bronco. Stock rotating assembly, Comp 262 cam, drilled and tapped for 7/16 rocker studs, guideplates, Offy DP intake, Holley 390cfm, later EFI exhaust. Converted to DSII ignition box, the owner didn't want points. Deleted the smog stuff and threw out the catalytic converter. It sounds awesome even going into a single exhaust.
I built this 1957 261 for my 1949 pick-up I'm currently building. It's .060 over. I still have some new FENTON exhaust manifolds to put on, and I've decided to rebuild a 12V generator and ditch the alt. Dual carbs are in its future as well. Here's my motor build thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?do=discuss&discussionid=10816&pp=20
It's in the car now. I'll see if I can't get an updated pic! There are some cool liners on here! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I do inlines in 4, 6 and 8 cylinder configuration. When done right they are a good stable engine platform. The 292 in the photo shifts at 9,000 RPM and engine Dyno's at 748 HP. The 235 with the triple carburetors has a full roller cam setup including the rockers too. It cranks out 442 HP on the Dyno. There is real potential. The strongest inline I have seen is the Ford 300 six. It has some real top notch possibilities. All it takes is money. Normbc9
My 54- 235 so far. I painted it up, threw it in my bel air, & hit the road. dual carb setup in the future.
Boucher Racing, I like your truck. I'm putting a 292 in my '65 Chevy short fleetside. I'm considering a turbo, but haven't decided for sure yet. What transmission are you using? brianinpa
Thanks, a turbo is great for power. It is a bit tricky to set up though. I a running a T5 out of a S10.
I built an .080"-over 261 for my '54 Chev. Powerglide head, Howards cam/ lifters/ pushrods, full filtration, Power Stroke one piece rear main seal, ported head, Cliffords headers, offy dual with 2 Carter-Weber progressive 2 bbls, etc... Behind it is a modifies S-10 T5 and a 10 bolt limited slip with 3.73:1. I plan on doing a tech article on the engine mounts I built for it. Stay tuned...
This is an inspiration. My 54' 235 was getting water in #4 cylinder and I finally pulled the head. TG it was cracked and not the block. I've since found a head, tanked, beaded and magnifluxed. The head was surface cut just for clean up. How much can you mill these heads? Any way your pictures got me thinking I should pull the short block and do it over. Thanks for posting them. I chickened out and fell in love w/ it again. Can't sell it! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad

Hey cummins......I got a question for anyone really.....I have 59 f100 with 223 inline 6.....part of me wants to put in a 351 Windsor witH an aod and part of me really digs the original inline 6....really feels old school and feels like a piece of history.....my problem is I obviously don't get a lot of Power out of my engine and I'm curious if the upgrades you have made have made a noticeable difference in power....I know it's not going to be anything crazy but I'd like to keep up with traffic on the hwy 65-75 mph.....not sure if I should dump the money into what I have or go with new set up....any advice anyone?
