These are 2 tubs I built 33 years apart. The funny thing is they came out of the mold about the same time. The red one has a 289 Ford engine, built in 1978. The orange one is my new one, completed last year.

I have torn it down since this photo, its getting a 216 chevy engine backed by a full synchro 60's falcon 3 speed, 19" chevy spokes and 40 chevy drums.
Hope to post some more pics when i get a bit more done over summer...

Here is ours. I am at a cross roads with it. I always Love the look of a stock Phaeton , but I think I discovered I like them when they are owned by someone else. So , I either make it a mild Hot Rod ,Dropped axle , big and little's, no horns , BLC lights , Chopped windshield /black top . or I sell it ?
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ?????????????????

Maybe build a second chassis for it...you know, low down sinister, bad ass. Keep the stock chassis as intact as possible and store it until you realize you'll NEVER put it back on the stocker. Then sell the extra chassis to a restorer. Are there any of those guys left?

...it going to be an early-postwar build. Think 20-year old car prepped for weekends at Murroc. Not too fancy, but no where near ratty.
