I did a search and didn't find a current thread for this.
This used to be a major topic, is a fading show for HAMBers?
We plan on being there Sunday. Is there still a preferred parking area for traditional rods and customs? Who all's going? I'm hoping to see some familiar faces.

I hate to say it Donnie but yes it has faded for HAMBers. The Hot Rod Hangout that was really created at our request was pretty dead (from a HAMB standpoint) today. Paintfumesmchgee (and his dad)[IMG] and I were the only ones parked there. JW and flatheadpete stopped by to say hello but had parked elsewhere. Hopefully Sunday will be a little better. Well make room for the 'Bird, we'll be there around 9:30. Wish I had something to pinstripe!

Another nice car that parked with us was a Grant King Champ dirt car now owned by long time USAC driver Jerry Nemire. Its an ex AJ Foyt car with a great racing history.

We got there late...10:30ish. Took FOREVER to find a parking spot. I hate lawn chairs. Still good to see some old friends....you too, Rich! Haha!

  11. First time in years I've missed Frankenmuth. Too many family commitments this year.

I missed catching up with you Rich. I hope to run into you soon.

We went Sunday. Nice show but not as big as a few years back. Good to see Joe and Lloyd, Rich and Marti, and Ray. Some really nice rides there.

  15. Do I take it that HAMBers can identify this 41 Chevy and Ford 5W? If so, I would like to get their names on their cars in the photo features at MCG. The Ford is in the first gallery linked below and the Chevy will be going into the next one. Thanks!

    Great cars, btw.

That's paintfumesmcghee and his dad. Mark built that Ford quite a few years ago and his dads Chevy has been done for a bit too. Great guys.

Actually the show is bigger than ever it was the Sunday crowd that seemed smaller than usual.

I went there for about 3 years in a row & even in that short time I noticed a fall off in attendance. Rain 2 years in a row didnt help also. Another thing I dont understand is why they schedule Frankenmuth & the Kalamazoo shows on the same weekend.

  22. Is the spelling as above correct and do you know his dad's first name?

Thanks! We try to get this stuff right.
