I don't mind paying for a quality show. You figure you spend that at McDonalds for a shitty burger and a bad attitude from the drive thru beatch, at least your money is going to help keep a good show going.

  2. Is it really necessary to piss on John's show? He does the best show for what he has to work with and almost everybody who goes, knows him. He walks around and greets everybody, thanks them for coming, addresses any complaints, notes them for any possible changes the next year. The show has changed a few times, but has never been less than awesome. I was parked on the south side of the fence too. Didn't bother me one bit, cause I got there late, and wasn't preregistered. MY FAULT!
I've been to every show and will keep coming back. You know what your mom used to say...."Honey,if you don't have anything nice to say....SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" hahaha...or something like that.

I have been going to this show since Dave started it as the PrimerNationals and this year was one of the best. John did a great job and the weather was perfect.

  5. On a lighter note....
Had a blast this year. Hung with Groucho for a while, which is the BEST! Probably told my brush with death story 200 times. KiwiKevs BBQ was top notch,as always. The cruise was unbelievable...Walked down the beach on sunday and the Pier. Cruised downtown, sat and sun night. Noble's shop for fun. Lots of people,music,food,cars....HUGE props to Dan Collins, for running interference on the route during the Reliability Run....
Hope the Reliability Run becomes an annual event! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!

The reliability run was bad ass. The motorcycle escort was awesome especially when they won block traffic for us so we could stay in a pack

You should be grateful there is a SHOW of this caliber. In your back yard. And you can AFFORD a another car like that that when most (me) could not afford to drive half way across the country to take in such great show. Did you whip a doughnut for Ed?

  9. Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend. It was one of the biggest shows in years. 700 cars total. Please feel free to put up pictures and videos or links to share. Thanks again for making this an amazing show.

It was my first time there! After a late start and 4 1/2 hours in traffic from Redlands I fnally made it around 2:30. I think the girl at the ticket counter felt sorry for me and my wife and gave us a discount. It was a great show and I'll definately come back.Afterwards we went to Kiwi Kevs pig roast. Some of the best roasted pig I ever had.Don't tell my inlaws who own a filipino resteraunt and sell it there.LOL!Kev thanks for the hospitality. My wife and I really enjoyed it.

This is one show I never miss. Hung with Groucho at the Motel 6, best time ever. This year, the wife and I did something different. She took her daily and paid $5 to park. She hopped in my car to get in. At noon, we got our hands stamped for re-entry and took the daily to find lunch. Found 71 Palms and had Crispy Duck Salad. Sunday, had dinner at Spazzo, best Osso Bucco I ever had.

Come on I never said the show was shit, I just said what all the other fuckers were crying about outside the fence. I just said something and got in and about 5 cars followed me. The show was great and it's an easy drive for me there, I have gone for the last 5 years and will keep on going even if I fuck up and forget to pre-reg.....Dumb fuck that I am......Gimme me a break and don't piss all over me. fucking hard crowd here man. Loved the show.....

Great show nice drive up was smaller than 4 or 5 years ago but they quality of the cars were super nice this year so it made up in lack of rat rods for nice show cars. Look at the cars at this show and then Lead East and see how much nicer these cars were.

I've been going to this show since the first one, and have seen the ebb and flow in attendance, and it certainly seems that participation was up this year from the last few. But the quality of the cars (other than mine!) seems to have improved every year for the last few. For a couple of years early on, when attendance was growing exponentially, the show seemed to be dominated by poorly chopped cars constructed with scrap metal bubble gum welded together and reinforced with duct tape, but not anymore. Saw many beautiful cars I had never seen before, but a lot of familiar faces, and both of these factors added to the fun. I have friends who travel from all over just to attend this show each year, always good to see them, and I got to say 'hello' again to Mike who comes out every year from the Netherlands with his wife, hopefully next year they can ride along on the reliability run. Hell, I even got to shoot the shit talking about cars and family with Marky Ramone! Forgot to tell him that the Ramones were the first concert I ever attended though...

Even though I wasn't able to spend a bunch of time with everyone (never found time to even set foot in the Pharoah's compound!) I hoped to see, I think I had more fun at the event this year than ever before! Kevin's Pig Roast is always a highlight, as is the Friday night at the Fast Frame, Noble's and JG Fabrication's open house parties were both a blast, and the reliablity run was the perfect cherry on top. Yeah, it could be cheaper, but I don't think it's over the top if you pre-reg, and if I wasn't at the show, I'd find somewhere else to go that would probably pry more money out of my wallet anyway. In fact, I got out cheap, as I only spent $5 at the swap meet! (I do honestly think the swap meet needs better promotion to bring in vendors, if anyone is listening!)

As always, looking forward to next year!

I thought the quality of the cars was pretty good. It was nice not to see a bunch of cars with plastic rat heads sticking out of the air filters and home made spider web grills.

I thought it was a great show. Probably one of the best that I can remember.

Definatley a lot more cars than last year.

Yeah I thought the covered fence seperating the grass from the asphalt was a little strange. No big deal.. just odd is all.

Great show John. I'll be back next year.

  20. The fence was out of our control unfortunately. The fairgrounds said it would be down and as you can see it was not. We will have to work that issue. Thank you all for your support and hope to see you in Bakersfield!!!

Great show you put on this past weekend. Met and talked with some really cool people. There were a nice mix of cars and awesome weather and as always the wife and kids had a blast. I'll definitely be back next year.

Just wanted to share a peice of art that was made for John Parker. Art Rivas from Oxnard made this as a special thanks to John for all the hard work he has done to put this show on. Good recognition. Nice job Art.
