Not a lot to say that I haven't said before except this is the week. Plans are in the works to pick it up on Friday.
    Left on his list:
    finish the drivers stainless
    Paint around windows and openings
    install felts
    install glass
    paint dash and inside trim
    hand the final bill over.

I know the pictures wont do it justice but look at his handy work on the stainless:
cut, shaped and welded and a single clip to finish it off, like original. I've seen chops with up to 3 clips or no stainless at all.

The beltline use to butt up to the ends of the trunk hinges. Here you can see the 4 inches he's added...

I can smell the hot august heat on the streets, hear the Rockabilly playing and feel my hand curled around the wheel now....

Looking good man. Thanks for posting the videos and the detailed pics are great. Chop is bad ass.

  10. Nice work. Details like the stainless trim separate the pros from the punters. Looks awesome.

Scrubbed up the 302 and C4 while I wait for the box to come back from the paint shop. Had to sit on my hands and wait... and Wait... and WAIT.

It should be home around August 7th... then the carpet and seats go in...
then over winter, solenoids, wiring, motor swap and door panels.

Well, we hit a major snag.
The car was in the booth. The paint laid and looking perfect when the painter walked out. In the morning he returned to find a big fat moth had done the death dance, flailing its wings on the rear right roof sail. That was August 11th.

Flash forward to today, August 28th and the paint has arrived at last. Tomorrow its back in the booth... Friday she be home at last. I have since taken a shine to swatting moths.

Sitting on my hands waiting has been driving me crazy.
The fan on my 41 locked up, twisted and took out my rad so that's been parked while I've been waiting for the parts and the recore of the rad. Remember flathead fans, there's a little screw in your fan that needs to be removed and gear oil poured in once in a while (about every oil change). A small $700 repiar if it locks up an tears into your rad like mine did.

To occupy myself over the last few weeks I've converted part of my shop into a place to hang out and feed buddies when they drop in. I guess this winter I'll lay some lino but for now it looks kinda like this. It'll have a great view of the 50 and 41 from the " Cantina" .

Her space, reserved. Many interior components ready to install, new carb waiting. Then next weekend maybe we cal pull some buddies together for a final meet and greet in the new diner.

The doors will wait until I do the solenoids this winter. Peep Mirrors so I can see where I been.
