here is an idea for what you can do with old carburetors. Saw it at Vinsetta's Garage on Woodward and came home and converted this one.
What did ya think of the Dream Cruze???Its a crazy few weeks in the area ...my Ma , lives right around the corner from there (Vinsetta Garage) and we are waiting for all the hype to slow down to go to the new Restraunt....Hope you had fun in the D while you were here...Shawn
Its mixed feelings seeing a car part being turned into art/something it wasn't made to be. But on the other hand it looks soo cool!
You can get a microswitch at Radio Shack (and probably elsewhere); mount it inside the throttle body, and use the throttle arm to turn on/off the light. Jon.
We have been attending the Dream Cruise since 2005. Last couple of years we have been in the Mopar display at 13 Mile
I saw a guy selling them at the swap meet last year, My buddy (being a dick) started giving the seller a hard time claiming he ruined a rare carb he needed for a restoration. I sometimes wonder why I hang out with him. Keith
I also saw them at Vinsetta'S Garage last month and have a HAMB pal making me a couple. Can't wait to see them in the flesh. Yours is very cool.
I made a paperwight from an old Ford 2bbl (painted black with red accents and an old chrome scoop on top painted red inside that some guy back when painted a hand shooting the bird inside in yellow One-Shot) from a 54 Ford back in 1971. The engine was junk in a 35 Chevrolet Std 3W Coupe I bought for $25 out of the back yard of an old house in Eufaula, AL. Vern Tardel made a bunch of coffee cups off a bad Stromberg 97 carb. Bill Norton at Early Ford Parts then made a better one and sold 1000s of them. SOmebody probably still sells them today I imagine.
