Okay, I know a lot of y'all hate these "what's it worth" questions but I seriously have no idea what a running 324 is worth. It is from a 55 88 and it was running when the guy took it out. (I have seen it run) It did not smoke and sounded good.
Anybody care to put a price on it? I'm thinking $1000 but like I said, I have no idea.

    Thanks.

Can you start it and run it if someone asks? If so 500. If your asking a stranger to take your word"it ran great when it was pulled", then a few hundred less is what you should expect to get for it...

That's what I'm thinking..........$1000 is way too much, $ 500 would be much more reasonable.

As long as the seller and the buyer are happy with the agreed upon value (price). On the other hand, price out a rebuilt 324 --- better be sitting down!
If an engine runs fine, I would replace the freeze plugs, gaskets and seals before installing it in a vehicle. Saves much aggravation latter on.

Can't find one in the Northeast for less than a grand, as in "good running/no blowby", etc.

Thanks for the info, based on what y'all posted I think I will hold onto it and put it to use someday.

Big ears in the breeze help cool me down, at high speed I do tape them back.

If it were a 56 324 it might be worth a little more as the 56 engines had better head design, but I would agree 500 is about right.
